Wow, last night’s Taking Back Sunday party for the 10th birthday of Tell All Your Friends was SO MUCH FUN! Quite the sing-a-long we had, while we shared memories from the past decade. TAYF is such a deep album, it truly is a common thread through all of us. [spotify playlist of the TBS afterparty]
Tonight we’ve got a New Release Triple Header! Beginning around 9pm EST we will be listening to I The Mighty’s Karma Never Sleeps, The Used’s Vulnerable, and The Mars Volta’s Nocturniquet.

Sunday it became official. I’m ranked in the top 25 DJs on Turntable.FM!
Thank you to everyone who listens to the songs I play! It really is an honor to hold it down for Underground and Independent Rock, and Alternative Hip-Hop! In a world of Dubstep, Mainstream Rock, and Top 40 Hits… I stick to spinning the shit that deserves to be heard. I can’t convey how happy it makes me when folks begin to support the artists I play.
Speaking of DIY music- I kickstarted a new site the Pop Punk/Rock/Alternative/Emo community on Turntable birthed:
http://freepprae.blogspot.com/
That site will be a spot for free music that we come across and would love to share. Tons of music variety, just no dubstep. Most of the music is actually hosted on bandcamp, so all downloads on this site are 100% legal. There’s not much of a selection currently, as the site was launched just two days ago. Definitely bookmark it though. We’ve got a solid group of posters, with great taste, from different areas of the country.Current contributors to PPRAE Freebies:
- djr (Louisiana)
- TheZachAttack (Texas)
- Theodore (California)
- TitaniumBeard (Ohio)
- Dj Miakoda (Massachusetts)
- Neesh (New York)

song reblogged from theworstkindofpretense:
I could hear you coming so I hid by the couch.
You were talking so loudly, I don’t know what about.
You were drunker than high school, self-conscious and sweet.
I never ever felt so cool disguised in your sheets. But I’m a constant headache, a tooth out of line.
They try to make you regret it, you tell them, no not this time.
It’s just a constant headache, a dead pet device.
You hang me up, unfinished with the better part of me no longer mine. And then you finally found me, pretending to sleep.
You said such nice things about me, I felt guilty and cheap.
You took two steps to the kitchen, and just stared at the sink.
I couldn’t hold back a smile, I still wish I could have seen youHaving sex in the morning, your love was foreign to me.
It made me think maybe human is not such a bad thing to be.
But I just laid there in protest, entirely fucked.
It’s such a stubborn reminder one perfect night’s not enough.

It’s Monday, back to the grind! Here’s some sweetness to brighten your day- free, legal music! In this post we’ve got some MP3s, some compilations, full albums, and full EPs! All the links below go to locations the bands themselves posted- so be sure to check some stuff out, and hit up the bands you dig! The links go to bandcamp, mediafire, and a few immediately dl upon clicking. I attempted to write out some RIYLs (recommended if you like) by looking the artists up on last.fm, but the majority of the artists have less that 5,000 listen/facebook likes. Buy some merch!
If you’d like to include your music in a future Freebies post, email bestroomontt@gmail.com with a link to your download, your band name, the name of what you’re sending, your social network links, and where you rep!
Thanks to Titanium Beard, DJ Miakoda, djunior, Sparks Dudemonkey, Keif, THEdickhatch, and MrissDemeanor for helping build this list! Also thank you AbsolutePunk for Free Music Fridays, I totally yoinked this idea from that. By the way, I’m Neesh. Hiiii! Enjoy the tunes, and support the artists!
